Problem:

Crooked and unaligned teeth.

SOLUTION - ORTHODONTICS

What is it?: It means moving the teeth in order to align them.
Usually some sort of brackets is used. There are no ones made of porcelain which are barely noticeable. This procedure usually takes two years depending on the case and it is paid for monthly.

For smaller imperfections the newest thing now is invisalign which is a system of transparent guardas. For this procedure an impression of the patient´s teeth has to be taken with a special material which allows the doctor and the patient to see what the movement of the teeth is supposed to be like through a computer. Those movements that would be observed can be accomplished using different guardas for each one of them. In this procedure there are about 40 guardas needed, depending on how much alignment there needs to be done.

Problem:

Superficial stains caused by smoking, drinking coffee, eating food with high carbohydrate contains, bacteria adhesion, or the natural aging process of the teeth.

SOLUTION - BLEACHING

What is it?: With this procedure it is possible to change up to six tones of the original color of your teet in order to achieve a perfect whitness. This whitening process is made with a hydrogen-peroxide formula. If you want your teet whitened, first you will need an appointment for a cleaning, at this appointment the Doctor will also take a model of your teeth for some guardas to be made for you to use at home. In your second appointment the Doctor will apply a high concentration of carbamida peroxide and it will be explained to you how to use the guardas with a whitening product at your home at night.
This procedure is not recommended for people with intrinsic pigmentation like tetracycline or dental hypersensitivity; in these cases porcelain veneers are a better option.

Problem:

Fractures, exposed roots, separated teeth.

SOLUTIONS - RESINS

Whats is it? - This materials is used to change the outline of the tooth and to fix to perfection tohose wich are fractured or have bad esthetic form. This can be donde through an enamel engraving technique an also with some sepcial adhesives carefully placed. The resin is hardened in the moth by means of a lamp of halogenous light.
There are more than 16 tonalities to equal the color with the one of the teeh of the patient. This all takes place in only one appointment and they last minimum of 10 years.

PROBLEM:

>Dental fluorosis

SOLUTION - MICROABRASION OF THE ENAMEL

What is it? - When the teeth are stained or pigmented by excessive fluorine in the water, special substances are used to eliminate the spots permanently. This is all done in one appointment. Later it is necessary to carry out a whitening process.

PROBLEM:

Lack of one or several teeth.

SOLUTION - IMPLANTS

What is it? - If some teeth are missing, either due to congenital causes or to an accident, it is possible to replace them without anyone noticing they are not your own. First a small titanium screw is placed either in the maxilar or mandibular bone, used to hold the replacement piece. There is no need to wear away any of the neighboring teeth, wich is done when fised implants are placed. Implants are helpful also for improving chewing and it can be done from one tooth to all the mouth; for the latter, a minimun of six screws are required.
